Russian university unveils Steve Jobs memorial

A Russian university has installed a memorial to Steve Jobs. Standing in the courtyard of the St. Petersburg National Research University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics, the monument takes the shape of a large-scale iPhone. A large screen in front displays a photo and video presentation of Jobs? life and career. The back of the monument features a QR code which, when scanned, directs people to a memorial website.

The monument is called ?Sunny QR code?, and is the work of St. Petersburg native Gleb Tarasov. A competition was held last year to create the memorial, with Tarasov?s design being selected from over other 200 submissions. A small but pleasant tribute, the monument will serve as a constant reminder of a man whose work meant so much to so many, and who continue to touch our lives for many years to come.
