Family Life | Toddler Times

skinned knee 224x300 Its the Season for Babies, Birthdays, and Skinned KneesWhy, hello there! Can you believe it?s the end of June already!? Summer is definitely in full swing!

Some of you may have been wondering where I?ve been for the past few weeks (or then again, you most likely didn?t even notice I was gone). Well, we?ve had a lot going on in our family!

First of all, and most exciting, we welcomed our sweet baby girl, Blair Grace, into our family! She was born at home on June 8th, and she is such an easy-going babe, who is adored by her older brother and sister.

Then, last week our little man turned 3! Because we knew his birthday would be close to the arrival of his new sister (I?m so glad they didn?t end up with the same birthday!), we didn?t plan anything big or extravagant. Just a small party with family, and he was perfectly happy.

It?s hard for me to believe that I have a three year old boy. I?m a little apprehensive, because from my experience with our older daughter, the age of three was worse than two ? and his two has been pretty rough the last few months. But, I?m also excited to continue to watch how this little boy grows and changes over the coming year.

And finally, we?ve just been trying to enjoy summer as much as we can, even with a new little babe. We went to the beach last weekend for the first time this summer, and we?ve been spending as much time outside as possible, which of course means plenty of falls and scrapes and skinned knees! Right now my son has three different scrapes on one knee from different falls.

I can?t wait to share with you more about what we?ve been up to as a family, but I?m still basking in the newness of my little one, and trying to figure out how in the world I?m going to manage these three kiddos this summer. So, I?ll be back with more next week, including super cute pics of Brenden in his new role as big brother, and some musings on discipline and toddlers, which has been on my mind a lot lately.

What have you been filling your days with this summer??
